Vionics fill my closet as since knee replacement they are the shoes that give me the most support and help with my overpronation of my ankles.Recently I have ordered 4 pair of Vionics in my usual size 9.5 M. Three pair did not remotely fit me. This being one of them. Something has definitely happened to Vionics but I am unsure what. This shoe was well-made and finished similar to a "loafer" style from the 50's and 60's. I ordered the black suede. Being solid black took away from the "loafer" look as it appeared a solid black shoe. The "penny" part of the shoe was really not very visible. None the less, I liked the shoe. The toe was very pointed for a Vionic shoe. I do not recall one this pointed and none of the ones I own are made in this style. So far none of these things would hinder my liking the shoe. Then I tried it on... so disappointed. First, it was too short I think due to the pointed toe. It was too wide at the heel and slipped like a flip flop when trying to walk. It was very narrow across the top of the foot but yet it was bulging on the sides showing the side of the foot bone. While the removeable footbed offered enough arch support I didn't feel there was any support as far as the overpronation.Perhaps I am expecting too much? I don't think so. I have about 30 pairs of Vionics all of which fit ideally for me. I own sandals, sneakers, leather walking shoes and regular shoes from Vionic. None of them cost the $139 like this pair. So, for me, for $139 I expect the shoe to be exceptional. This one didn't even make "average". Returning now.
